“Multiple Individuals, Dual Incidents, Security Breach Unfolds in Parliament with Smoke Discharge in Lok Sabha”

Parliament Faces Security Breach on 22nd Anniversary of Terror Attack

In a shocking turn of events during Wednesday’s session in Parliament, a major security breach occurred as two separate incidents unfolded, raising serious concerns about the safety measures in one of the country’s most protected spaces. The breach, coincidentally on the 22nd anniversary of the terror attack on the old Parliament building, left MPs and security personnel on high alert.

The chaos ensued during Zero Hour when two men, carrying canisters emitting yellow smoke, breached security and stormed into the Lok Sabha chamber. CCTV footage captured the dramatic scene as one of the intruders, clad in a dark blue shirt, darted across desks to evade capture while the other sprayed smoke from the visitors’ gallery. MPs and security staff managed to overpower both intruders, identified as Sagar Sharma and D Manoranjan. Additionally, two individuals outside Parliament, identified as Amol Shinde and Neelam, were detained carrying colored pressurized canisters that spewed red and yellow smoke.

The Speaker of the House, Om Birla, reassured the Members of Parliament, stating, “We are investigating the matter and have asked Delhi Police to join the inquiry.” He confirmed the apprehension of the intruders and the seizure of the materials they carried, emphasizing that the Delhi Police had also arrested the individuals outside Parliament.

The sequence of events was captured on camera, with footage showing the intruders attempting to reach the Speaker’s Chair amidst shouts urging their capture. Notably, key political figures like Rahul Gandhi, Hardeep Singh Puri, and Anupriya Patel were present during the incident, although Prime Minister Narendra Modi was away presiding over a BJP ceremony in Chhattisgarh.

Amidst the unfolding chaos, concerns were raised about the breach’s timing, occurring on the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament attack. Several MPs expressed alarm, with Karti Chidambaram highlighting the potential threat posed by the gas released and the gravity of breaching security on such a significant date.

The recovery of a visitor’s pass, allegedly issued by BJP MP Pratap Simha, further intensified questions regarding security protocols, considering the stringent clearance procedures mandated for entry into Parliament.

The detained individuals outside Parliament, Amol Shinde and Neelam, were reported shouting slogans against dictatorship while wielding similar pressurized canisters. Authorities suspect a link between the two incidents, raising concerns about the motives behind the breaches and the safety measures in place.

As investigations continue into the startling breaches, Parliament adjourned till the following day. The incidents have sparked discussions and calls for a thorough review of security protocols within the premises, particularly on this solemn day commemorating the 22nd anniversary of the tragic attack on the old Parliament building.

The Delhi Police and concerned authorities are delving deeper into the incidents to uncover any potential lapses and ensure the safety and sanctity of the country’s legislative hub.
