“Nitish Kumar Vows Permanent NDA Loyalty After Meeting PM Modi”

Nitish Kumar Affirms Commitment to NDA After Meeting PM Modi

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar reaffirmed his allegiance to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) following a pivotal meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, signaling his unwavering commitment to the alliance amid political dynamics in the state.

The encounter between Nitish Kumar and PM Modi marked their first interaction since the Janata Dal (United) president’s decision to realign with the BJP-led NDA last month, forsaking the Opposition bloc. Emerging from the discussions, Kumar underscored his resolve, declaring, “Never now. We will remain here (in the NDA),” affirming his steadfastness to the coalition.

Subsequent to his meeting with PM Modi, Nitish Kumar engaged with Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda, delving into a spectrum of governance and political issues pertinent to Bihar. The deliberations come against the backdrop of an impending trust vote scheduled for February 12, presenting a critical juncture for the Nitish Kumar-led government.

Addressing reporters, the JD(U) chief reflected on his longstanding association with the BJP since 1995, emphasizing his enduring partnership with the alliance. Despite two previous separations, Kumar expressed conviction in the permanence of their alliance, signaling a renewed commitment to collective governance and political cooperation.

With Bihar gearing up for the dissolution of six Rajya Sabha seats and subsequent elections on February 27, the strategic alliance between the BJP and JD(U) assumes paramount importance. The distribution of parliamentary seats and collaboration with smaller allies loom large on the agenda, underscoring the intricacies of alliance politics in the region.

While speculation abounds regarding the possibility of synchronizing Bihar Assembly elections with the impending Lok Sabha polls anticipated in April-May, divergent viewpoints within the alliance surface. While Nitish Kumar may advocate for concurrent elections, the BJP, wielding substantial legislative strength, may adopt a cautious stance, sources suggest.

Amidst deliberations on seat-sharing arrangements and political maneuvers, Nitish Kumar’s unwavering allegiance to the NDA provides a semblance of stability amidst the prevailing political flux. As Bihar braces for electoral contests and governance challenges, the synergy between the BJP and JD(U) remains pivotal in shaping the state’s political trajectory and ensuring effective governance.
