Affair Gone Wrong: Parcel Bomb Kills Man and Daughter in Gujarat

A tragic incident unfolded in Vadali, Gujarat, as a parcel bomb sent to a family’s home resulted in the death of a man and his daughter. Police investigations revealed that the sender of the deadly parcel was allegedly involved in an affair with the man’s wife, leading to a motive of revenge.

The explosion occurred on Thursday afternoon when 32-year-old Jeetubhai Heerabhai Vanjara, a labourer, opened the parcel, mistaking it for a harmless item. Tragically, the blast killed him instantly, and his 12-year-old daughter Bhumika succumbed to her injuries on the way to the hospital.

According to authorities, the sender, identified as 31-year-old Jayantibhai Balusingh Vanjara, disguised the parcel as a tape recorder and sent it to Jeetubhai’s house in an auto-rickshaw. The intended victim plugged in the device, triggering the explosion.

Senior police officer Vijay Patel revealed that Jayantibhai’s motive was rooted in his disapproval of his former girlfriend’s marriage to Jeetubhai. Jayantibhai meticulously planned the attack, acquiring materials from Rajasthan to construct the improvised bomb using gelatin sticks and a detonator.

The aftermath of the explosion left Jeetubhai’s other two daughters, aged 9 and 10, injured, with one of them in critical condition and on ventilator support. Both girls sustained severe injuries to their eyes and chest and have been transferred to Ahmedabad for further medical care.
