Shocking Incident: Indian Passenger Urinates on MNC Executive on Air India Flight

Air India Passenger Urinates on Co-Passenger in Business Class on Delhi-Bangkok Flight; Victim Yet to Press Charges

An Indian national travelling on Air India’s Delhi-Bangkok flight allegedly urinated on a co-passenger during descent on Wednesday, causing outrage among fellow flyers and prompting the airline to report the matter to authorities. The incident occurred onboard flight AI2336, with both individuals seated in the business class section.

According to people familiar with the matter, the accused passenger was seated on 2D and urinated on the passenger in seat 1D, who is reportedly a top executive of a multinational corporation. The incident reportedly happened during the plane’s descent into Bangkok. The accused immediately apologised for his behaviour, and the victim declined to press charges or file a formal complaint.

    Victim Declines to Pursue Complaint

While the act has been classified as “unruly passenger behaviour,” the victim informed the crew that he did not want to spend additional time pursuing legal action after landing. An airline official said both individuals were questioned by the cabin crew, but neither chose to lodge a formal grievance.

The crew, upon learning of the incident from the aggrieved passenger, relocated the offending individual to a different seat and issued a warning. “The cabin crew learnt about the matter from the passenger sitting on 1D,” a person familiar with the matter stated.

    Air India Issues Statement

In a statement, an Air India spokesperson confirmed the incident and said the crew followed all necessary protocols in line with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) guidelines.
“The crew followed all laid down procedures, and the matter has been reported to the authorities. In addition to warning the unruly passenger, our crew offered to assist the aggrieved passenger to take up a grievance with authorities in Bangkok, which was declined at the time,” the spokesperson said.

The airline also noted that an independent standing committee would be convened to assess the situation and determine any further action against the passenger involved.

    Recurrence Raises Concerns

This is not the first time Air India has faced such an incident involving unruly behaviour and urination. The recurrence of such behaviour on flights — especially in business class — has raised serious concerns about passenger conduct and airline enforcement.

Air India reiterated its commitment to adhering strictly to DGCA protocols in such incidents and assured that it would handle all cases of misconduct with the seriousness they deserve.
