Telangana’s newly sworn-in Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, extended a gesture of solidarity by visiting his predecessor and the chief of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), K Chandrasekhar Rao, at a private hospital in Hyderabad. KCR, as he is widely known, is currently undergoing treatment after suffering a fall at his farmhouse in Erravalli, resulting in a hip injury that required surgery.
KCR was admitted to Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad following the incident at his Erravalli farmhouse on December 7, where he underwent a hip replacement surgery. Telangana’s Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, took the opportunity to personally inquire about KCR’s health, demonstrating a rare display of political camaraderie between the current administration and the opposition leader.
During the visit, Revanth Reddy conversed with KCR’s family to get updates on the veteran leader’s condition. A video surfaced showing the Chief Minister engaging in conversation with KCR, discussing the latter’s injuries and well-being.
Addressing reporters, Revanth Reddy affirmed that he had directed the chief secretary and relevant officials to extend comprehensive support and cooperation for KCR’s treatment. Expressing his desire for KCR’s swift recovery, Reddy emphasized the importance of the former Chief Minister’s participation in the upcoming Telangana assembly session, underscoring the need for his guidance in delivering effective governance.
The cordial visit by the Chief Minister to the hospital underscores a rare moment of unity and concern transcending political differences between the two leaders, showcasing a bond of empathy amidst their usual political opposition.
K Chandrashekar Rao’s daughter, K Kavitha, disclosed that the former Chief Minister had sustained a hairline fracture in his hip following the fall in his farmhouse. Doctors anticipate an approximate recovery period of eight weeks for KCR.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conveyed his wishes for KCR’s speedy recovery, expressing his distress over the former Telangana CM’s injury and extending prayers for his well-being.
As KCR undergoes treatment and recovery, his absence from the political sphere is notably felt, emphasizing the significance of his potential return for vital discussions and guidance within the Telangana legislative framework.
