
A five-year-old boy was severely injured after a woman allegedly ran him over with her car inside the SG Grand high-rise in Raj Nagar Extension, Ghaziabad. The police have booked the unidentified woman driver based on a complaint filed by the child’s father, Romit Tyagi.
Incident Caught on CCTV
A video of the incident, captured by a CCTV camera, purportedly shows a white Honda City crushing the boy under its front wheels near a badminton court inside the residential society.
Tyagi, in his FIR, alleged that the woman was speeding and fled the scene after running over his child. He stated that his son suffered fractures from his right thigh to his knee and sustained serious injuries to his right hand, left leg, and back. The boy is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Vasundhara.
Police Investigation Underway
Poonam Mishra, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Nandgram circle, confirmed that an FIR has been registered under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including:
- Section 281 – Rash driving on a public way
- Section 125(b) – Acts endangering life and personal safety of others
The Nandgram police are now analyzing the CCTV footage to identify and locate the driver. Further investigations are underway.
