Union Home Minister Amit Shah participated in the Mahashivratri celebrations at the Isha Foundation in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on Wednesday. Shah praised the Isha Yoga Centre, calling it a place of liberation rather than just a pilgrimage site. He emphasized that the Adiyogi statue symbolizes 112 spiritual paths and serves as a medium for youth to connect with the Almighty.

The Union Minister also compared Sadhguru’s efforts in promoting yoga with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative of International Yoga Day.
Additionally, he praised Sadhguru’s Save Soil campaign, acknowledging its impact in raising awareness about environmental conservation.
Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj Concludes on Mahashivratri
The Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, also ended on Wednesday, coinciding with Mahashivratri. The event, which began on January 13, saw over 65 crore devotees taking a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam.
Despite controversies surrounding stampedes, fires, and alleged mismanagement, the gathering reflected the unity of diverse cultures through devotion.
