“Delhi Police Arrests Wanted Hizbul Terrorist Javed Mattoo in Capital Breakthrough”

Wanted Hizbul Terrorist Javed Mattoo Arrested in Delhi

In a significant breakthrough, the Delhi Police Special Cell successfully apprehended Javed Mattoo, a notorious figure affiliated with the terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen, within the national capital. Mattoo, a long-sought-after A++ category terrorist, was captured following a meticulous search operation initiated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), marking a pivotal moment in the pursuit of justice against terrorism.

The arrest unfolded after law enforcement officials seized critical evidence from Mattoo, including a pistol, a magazine, and a stolen vehicle, underscoring the gravity of his involvement in illicit activities. Shedding light on the operation, Special Commissioner of Delhi Police, HGS Dhaliwal, commended the coordinated efforts between the Special Cell and central agencies, emphasizing the successful culmination in apprehending Mattoo.

“Javed Mattoo, an A++ category terrorist carrying a bounty of ₹10 lakh, was arrested today with the joint efforts of the Special Cell and central agencies,” stated Commissioner Dhaliwal. “Upon securing him in police custody remand, further necessary actions will be taken.”

Originating from Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore district, Mattoo has been linked to a series of nefarious acts, including involvement in five grenade attacks within the union territory and the tragic killing of five police personnel across different incidents. His designation as an A++ level terrorist underscores the gravity of his actions, with authorities noting his status as one of the last surviving designated terrorists from the region.

However, amidst these developments, a viral video emerged last year depicting Mattoo’s brother, Rayees, hoisting the national flag at their residence in Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir. Rayees expressed a heartfelt sentiment, affirming his allegiance to the nation and encouraging his brother’s return. “I waved the Tiranga from my heart. There was no pressure from anyone…Saare jahaan se achha Hindustan humara, hum bulbule hain iske ye gulistan hamara,” he conveyed to the media.

Speaking further about his brother’s involvement, Rayees lamented the lack of knowledge about Mattoo’s activities since he joined the extremist group in 2009. He urged his brother to reconsider his path, citing the changed circumstances and a call for his return. “My brother became one (a terrorist) in 2009; we don’t know anything about him after that…If he is alive, I urge him to come back…The situation has changed, Pakistan can’t do anything…Hum Hindustani the, hain aur rahenge.”

Mattoo’s arrest stands as a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to curb terrorism, emphasizing the collaborative approach between law enforcement agencies and the persistent pursuit of justice.
