"KTR Slams Agency Following K Kavitha's Arrest, Recalls Chandrababu Naidu's Past Criticism"

Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao (KTR) has spoken out against the arrest of his sister K Kavitha by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), highlighting the comments made by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu in 2019 regarding the misuse of investigative agencies for political purposes.

K Kavitha was arrested on Friday in connection with an alleged money laundering case related to Delhi’s excise policy. Reacting to this development, KTR shared a social media post from Mr. Naidu from 2019, where he criticized the misuse of institutions like the CBI and ED to target opposition leaders and their families.

In his 2019 post, Mr. Naidu expressed concern over the timing of such actions just before elections and accused the BJP of political vendetta. KTR echoed these sentiments, stating, “Couldn’t have put it better than Chandrababu Naidu Garu below.”

Meanwhile, K Kavitha, daughter of BRS founder and former Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, is set to appear before a special court in Delhi today after being questioned and raided at her Hyderabad residence.

Harish Rao, another BRS leader, condemned the arrest as “illegal and undemocratic,” alleging a conspiracy between the BJP and Congress to undermine the BRS party and KCR. Kavitha’s lawyer also called the arrest “illegal” and vowed to take legal steps.

The ED’s action comes after issuing multiple summons to K Kavitha, with previous questioning sessions conducted last year under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The ongoing developments have sparked political tensions and debates over the impartiality of investigative agencies in India.
