“Modi Unveils Gurugram Metro and AIIMS Rewari: A Leap Forward for Haryana’s Development”

Modi's Rewari Visit Boosts Gurugram Metro and Healthcare Infrastructure

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Rewari today marked a significant milestone in the development of urban infrastructure and healthcare in Haryana. Inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for projects valued at over ₹9,750 crore, the Prime Minister underscored the government’s commitment to enhancing various sectors crucial for the state’s growth.

A key highlight of the visit was the groundbreaking ceremony for the Gurugram Metro Rail project, a long-awaited endeavor aimed at transforming urban transportation in the region. With an estimated budget of ₹5,450 crore, the project is set to cover a total length of 28.5 kilometers, linking the Millennium City Centre to Udyog Vihar Phase-5. Notably, it will bridge the gap between old and new Gurugram, providing seamless connectivity across key sectors.

The Gurugram Metro Rail project holds promise in alleviating traffic congestion and improving accessibility for residents and commuters. By integrating with the existing Rapid Metro Rail Gurugram network at strategic points like Moulsari Avenue near Cyber City, the new metro line is poised to enhance connectivity and convenience for thousands of daily passengers.

Furthermore, the initiative reflects a comprehensive approach to urban development, encompassing 27 elevated projects and a 1.85-kilometer spur at the Dwarka Expressway. With a projected timeline of four years for completion, the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) is tasked with executing this ambitious undertaking, building upon the success of the existing Gurugram metro, which was spearheaded by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

In addition to bolstering urban transport, the Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for a new All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rewari. With an investment of ₹1,650 crore, this state-of-the-art facility spanning 203 acres is poised to revolutionize healthcare delivery in the region. Equipped with a 720-bed Hospital Complex, a 100-seat Medical College, a 60-seat Nursing College, and a 30-bed AYUSH Block, the AIIMS in Rewari will cater to the growing healthcare needs of the populace, ensuring accessible and high-quality medical services.

The combined efforts in advancing urban transport and healthcare infrastructure underscore the government’s commitment to fostering holistic development and improving the quality of life for citizens. As these projects take shape, they are poised to leave a lasting impact on the socio-economic landscape of Haryana, driving progress and prosperity for generations to come.
