PM Modi's Spiritual Sojourn: Meditating at Adi Kailash in Traditional Attire

Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a daylong visit to the picturesque state of Uttarakhand, where he sought spiritual solace and connected with the cultural heritage of the region. The highlight of his visit was his meditation near the sacred Adi Kailash peak, known as the abode of Lord Shiva.

Prime Minister Modi commenced his visit by offering prayers at the Gauri Kund, a site of immense significance to Hindus, located in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. He also took a moment to catch a glimpse of the magnificent Adi Kailash, a revered mountain peak in the region. Later, he was scheduled to observe the breathtaking Om Parvat from his helicopter.

Expressing his awe and reverence for the region, PM Modi shared on social media, “I am overwhelmed with the darshan and worship at the holy Parvati Kund of Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand. I am also happy to catch a glimpse of Adi Kailash from here. From this place of spirituality and culture nestled in the lap of nature, I wished a happy life for all family members.”

Prime Minister Modi commenced this spiritual journey by donning a traditional outfit, complete with a white turban and a ‘ranga’ (upper body garment). His attire was a nod to the rich cultural traditions of Uttarakhand.

In a display of devotion, PM Modi performed aarti at the Shiva Parvati temple located along the banks of Parvati Kund in Jolingkong. With folded hands, he meditated in front of the revered Adi Kailash peak, immersing himself in the spiritual aura of the location.

After these spiritual pursuits, PM Modi proceeded to the Gunji village, where he interacted with local residents and visited an exhibition showcasing the region’s unique artifacts. Uttarakhand’s Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, accompanied the Prime Minister during these interactions.

In the next phase of his visit, Prime Minister Modi planned to visit Jageshwar Dham, an ancient Shiva temple situated approximately 15 kilometers from Gunji. There, he would offer prayers, continuing his spiritual journey in this enchanting region, which is deeply entwined with Hindu mythology.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister was set to return to Pithoragarh, where he would lay the foundation stone for several developmental projects totaling ₹4,200 crore. His visit would culminate in addressing a public meeting, where he would outline the government’s commitment to the region’s growth and development.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Uttarakhand not only underscores his dedication to spiritual pursuits but also highlights his commitment to the region’s progress, culture, and heritage. His daylong journey serves as a testament to the cultural and spiritual diversity that enriches the tapestry of India.
