Violent Clash Over Loudspeakers in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh Leaves Several Injured

Clashes Erupt in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh Over Loudspeaker, Flag Installation During Mahashivratri

Tensions flared in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand on Wednesday morning as a violent clash broke out between two groups over the installation of flags and the use of a loudspeaker during Mahashivratri celebrations. Several people sustained injuries, and multiple two-wheelers were set on fire, police said.

    Violence and Security Response

Nancy Sahay, the Deputy Commissioner of Hazaribagh, assured that security forces had been deployed and the situation was now under control.

“A scuffle and stone-pelting took place this morning over using a sound system in Ichak area of Hazaribagh district,” she told ANI. “Adequate forces have been deployed, and senior officers are camping at the site. The situation is currently under control and peaceful.”

Trainee IPS officer Shruti Agarwal appealed to the public to cooperate with authorities to maintain peace. “There should be peace everywhere. We want you all to cooperate with the authorities,” she said, emphasizing that the festival should conclude peacefully.

    Political Reactions

Union Minister and BJP MP from Ranchi, Sanjay Seth, condemned the violence and attributed it to the presence of “Bangladeshi infiltrators.” He urged Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren to take strict action against those responsible.

“This is condemnable and painful. The government should be strict with such people. Violence breaks out during idol immersion after Saraswati Puja, during Ram Navami, Holi, and now on Mahashivratri. Who are the people disturbing the peace?” Seth questioned.

He further claimed that such incidents were not seen in BJP or NDA-ruled states and accused Bangladeshi immigrants of affecting law and order in Jharkhand.

“Nowhere in the country does violence happen like this. It happens in Jharkhand because Bangladeshi infiltrators are disturbing the demography and law & order,” he alleged. “In states like Delhi, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh—where BJP or NDA is in power—these infiltrators are identified and removed.”

    Appeal for Peace

Amid heightened tensions, local authorities are urging citizens to maintain harmony and refrain from escalating the situation. The police continue to monitor the area to prevent further unrest.
