Popular YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav has been arrested and subsequently sent to 14-day judicial custody in connection with a snake venom-rave party case. The arrest came after questioning by the Noida Police regarding allegations of arranging snake venom for use as a recreational drug at rave parties last year.
The case against Elvish Yadav and five others was registered under the Wildlife Act in Noida, following accusations of arranging snake venom for such parties. The police had conducted a raid at a banquet hall in sector 51 of Noida last November, where they arrested five individuals, including four snake charmers, and seized nine snakes along with poison.
Elvish Yadav, known for featuring snakes in his YouTube videos, faced scrutiny after an animal rights group, People For Animals (PFA), led by BJP leader Maneka Gandhi, initiated an undercover operation. PFA contacted Yadav, disguised, and requested snakes and venom, to which he allegedly provided a contact named Rahul. This led to the discovery of the snake-charmers and the seizure of snakes and venom.
Despite the allegations and arrest, Elvish Yadav has denied any involvement in the case, labeling the accusations as baseless and fake. However, Maneka Gandhi has called for his immediate arrest, accusing him of illegally selling snake venom. Investigations into Yadav’s role in the incident are ongoing.
