Ranveer Allahbadia Appears Before Mumbai Police After Skipping Summons

Ranveer Allahbadia Appears Before Mumbai Police After Initially Skipping Summons in Vulgar Remark Case

YouTube personality Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, on Monday appeared before the Maharashtra Cyber Cell to record his statement in connection with the controversy surrounding his remarks on comedian Samay Raina’s YouTube show.

    Controversy Over Allahbadia’s Remarks

Allahbadia’s comments on the show, particularly his statement about “joining parents in sex,” sparked massive outrage. The backlash extended beyond social media, drawing criticism from lawmakers and legal authorities. The matter was even raised in Parliament, where MPs demanded stricter regulations on internet content.

Despite issuing a public apology, Allahbadia continued to face severe criticism. The controversy escalated, prompting the Mumbai Police to summon him for questioning. Initially, he skipped the summons but later complied and appeared before the authorities.

    Supreme Court’s Strong Condemnation

The Supreme Court also weighed in on the matter, expressing strong disapproval of Allahbadia’s remarks. The bench, led by Justice Surya Kant, condemned his statements, calling them “perverted” and offensive to societal values.

“Such behaviour has to be condemned. Just because you are popular, you cannot take society for granted. Is there anyone on earth who would like this language? There is something very dirty in his mind which has been vomited,” the court remarked, as per Bar and Bench.

The court further stated that the remarks were deeply inappropriate and would bring shame to families and society. “The words you have chosen, parents will be ashamed, sisters will be ashamed. The entire society will feel ashamed. The perverted mind. The perversion you and your henchmen have exhibited!” Justice Surya Kant said, according to Live Law.

Samay Raina Deletes ‘India’s Got Latent’ Episodes

Meanwhile, comedian Samay Raina, the host of the show where the remarks were made, deleted all episodes of India’s Got Latent from his YouTube channel. He announced the decision on X (formerly Twitter), stating that he wanted to take responsibility for the controversy.

    Legal Proceedings Continue

With Allahbadia now cooperating with the Mumbai Police, further investigations into the matter are ongoing. The case has intensified the debate over content regulation on digital platforms, with many calling for stricter measures to curb inappropriate remarks in online discussions.
